Our Christmas Card
Here is our Christmas card for 2008! I just love getting Christmas cards ~ especially those with pictures in them! Thanks to Willette Photography for the fabulous photo and Ms. H at keepsakedesigns.net for the fabulous design & cards! Ms. H rocks! We have used her on several occasions and she always does a fabulous job!
A Favorite Find ~ Frozen Vino!
Ok...I had to give a shout out to my new favorite find! My sister-in-law (Mrs. HY) and I went to a fabulous annual gift show in Richmond a couple of weekends ago and stumbled upon this find. It is frozen wine. Now, before you turn up your nose you must try it. Buy the cheapest red wine you can find (I used Charles Shaw Nouveau ~ from Trader Joes) and mix it in a pitcher or a gallon sized plastic bag (I used this!). Follow the simple directions that come with the mix and it is SOOOOO YUMMY! We had a Christmas gathering last weekend and it was a huge hit! Everyone wanted to know where to get the Frappio Vino mix! Go to dmarieinc.com. You will find this product there!

Can we say BUSY!
With Christmas only 6 days away...I have finally mailed my last package or so I thought. I just found a little gift I purchased for my aunt that I was going to throw in an envelope. Story behind this gift is my aunt is forever seen with a koozie (I am sure I spelled it wrong), but you know what I mean? They are the little drink coolers. Well, she constantly has a water, soda, or light beer in one (hey, we from the deep south). I was at this kitchen store going out of business and they had a pink one with "I am blond, what is your excuse" written on it. Since she is known for her blond hair & it was a steal at about $2.50 I had to get it for her. She is always thinking of me, my kids, and my hubby. Never misses a birthday or Christmas. She is just the sweetest and I love spending time with her. Of course I am thrilled about moving to TN when we will be only about a 4 hour drive from her and my other favorite aunt. So, long story short...I have her little gift and couple of cards and I am done. I guess I will attempt to get those complete with laundry and cleaning before driving Jordan to Williamsburg this afternoon.
I am also attempting to get my Christmas Eve dining list together. Actually trying to scale everything down...I think I am a little over the top on my choices after finding my little Paula Deen Christmas book my mother-in-law got me last Christmas. It just has so many yummy desserts! I am thinking everyone will hate me on Christmas Day at grand Young house with all the temptation.
I am taking a little break from the business in the spotlight over the holidays to enjoy the time with the kids. They are only young once. Plus Mr. Y has 16 days of leave!!! He does not go back to work until January 5. I must say it is well deserved. He works hard!
I am working on some new items over my break. Here and there when I get a minute. I have some new things coming out for Valentine's Day and already planning for spring and summer. This promises to be a busy time for our family with the impending move and putting the house on the market. I have no idea how I am going to keep the house in "show" ready condition while on the market. I am hoping for a quick, solid contract! Cross your fingers for us!
While Mr. Y is off...we will be completing "honey do" list projects that have both our names on it. We have to paint, paint, paint! Lots of touch ups and painting the green in Ms. S's room to a more neutral color that all buyers will like.
I just brought a new shipment of headbands to AOC Salon ~ enjoy. More leg warmers are coming to AOC Salon in January 09 ~ since she has sold out! Also, I will be meeting with The Cuddly Hippo in MacArthur Center Mall come early Jaunary to discuss selling my hats & flower clips. A special thanks to my friend, Melanie Cramer who happened to mention my name & business. Love it when my friends & customers market me. I am getting inventory ready right now to bring her in 09.
From our family to yours, we hope you all have a joyous and very happy holiday season. May 2009 bring many more happy memories and good health!

Christmas has arrived at our house!
Here is picture of our Christmas trimmings around our house. I have been busy getting ready, shopping for Christmas presents, wrapping them, and getting some of them mailed to friends & relatives far away.
I just love this time of year...but I have to admit this year it is wearing me down just a little bit. We are having my husband's department Christmas party at our house this year, so that may have something to do with it.

O' Christmas Tree
My mom just flew in for a visit last week from Ft. Worth and while she was here ~ let's just say I got a couple of things done!
I put up our Christmas tree and garland above the fireplace. I know it is before Thanksgiving, but I have to make use of the extra hands.
Right now, I am busy getting headbands completed for AOC Salon. I am taking a little break from designing for the holiday season, but will get back to full swing in January preparing for Spring!

Christmas is coming...
Everywhere I turn I am reminded that Christmas is on the horizon! I love everything about the holidays. I only wish there were more hours in the day to get everything done...the way I REALLY want them done. I am sure no one else feels that way ~ just kidding!! I have some fun holiday items I created last week. I could make holiday items all year long...

Every girl needs a pretty hat!
Introducing a new product I am now offering to my clients ~ fun, oh so girly, flower hats. These soft, stretch crochet hats come in a variety of colors. The flowers are attached to double prong alligator clips and you weave the clip in and out of the hat (if you want it attached to the hat). The flower clip also works as a hair clip! Lots of different looks with just one product.

Catching up...
I have been horrible about blogging lately as I am busy getting ready for a "shopping spree" show at GUMP in November & continually filling other orders coming in.
I have managed to create a couple of new items and take photos of them to post. I also have new hats and will post them in the next couple of days.
The kids got their pictures taken today ~ professionally by an extremely talented photographer Kelly Willette. I am on pins and needles to see the final pictures ~ just the glimpses of them on her digital screen were breathtaking!

Busy with custom orders!
I should be working. Instead I am glued to the computer this morning drinking my yummy pumpkin spice coffee. I love any pumpkin flavored products and this coffee is no exception! I sweeten it with a packet of Splenda & light vanilla soy milk. YUMMY! My hubsand accidently took a sip of my coffee the other morning and could not get over how good it was. The difference between mine & his ~ the light vanilla soy milk. He is hooked now!
After my coffee & reading emails, I am off to work a couple of custom orders and the rest of my day will revolve around household duties and getting product made.
I am having a sale in my EBAY store now. It is my "pre-restocking" sale. I am going to restock all items at the beginning of November. Fun, new merchandise & some great finds!
The picture I posted today is of the girls and I at Disney On Ice this past weekend. Their Aunt Woozie who works for a local radio station got us tickets for the show! They LOVED it!

Rain, rain, go away!
It is raining like cats and dogs today. It just began to down pour as I put Riley down for her afternoon nap. Perfect weather for cleaning & creating!!
I created a couple of pieces this morning. I am attempting to get ready for the upcoming holiday season.
If you live in the local area, I will be delivering new products to AOC Salon next week. Many of my products are one-of-a-kind, so you do not want to miss out! If you want to get a GREAT hair cut or color and live in the local area ~ you need to visit Dalbe & her staff at AOC Salon in Norfolk!

Christmas Products
I am busy working on Christmas products. It is getting me in the mood for the upcoming holiday season. I was up last night completing these product and some others I am saving for the GUMP Shopping Sale on November 7.
Sammie and I baked cupcakes today. She wants the new cupcake maker for Christmas. I remember as a little girl always wanting the Easy Bake oven and never got it. My mom always thought it was a safety hazard. With all the recalls over the years on the Easy Bake oven, I guess Mom was right again. Sammie will not be disappointed, she will receive the Cupcake Maker for Christmas. You bake the cupcakes in the microwave and use the "maker" for the decorating. I think we will just bake our own an use the decorator. Microwaved cupcakes just do not sound that "yummy" to me.

Made-to-match Gymboree
My newest creation is made to match Gymboree's Fall Forest. I have created a set of clippies & skinny headband. This line is adorable and I will be coming out with some more made to match pieces within the coming weeks.
New Gymboree lines are coming out for the holidays. I am already working on City Sparkle and Holiday pictures lines.
